It is made of zest or lemon peels which are immersed in distilled alcohol until they have extracted their oil, extract.
The resulting yellow liquid is blended with plain sugar syrup whose proportions affect the taste and clarity of Limoncello.
You can enjoy it as an aperitif, but is often served after dessert as it is said it is good in digestion.
It is also widely used in cocktail making.
